1. About this policy

This policy explains how Go Unbounded Ltd (“Go Unbounded”, “we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our website at go-unbounded.co.uk and on our customer portal at account.go-unbounded.co.uk.

It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains more broadly how we handle personal data and what rights you have.

2. What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let a site work properly, remember your choices, and understand how people use it.

We also use technologies that behave similarly and are covered by the same rules:

  • Local storage, which lets a site store information in your browser
  • Tracking pixels, small invisible images used to record that something has been viewed or opened

Where this policy refers to cookies, it covers these too.

Cookies set by us are called first party cookies. Cookies set by another organisation whose service we use, such as Stripe or Google, are third party cookies.

3. Your choices

Nothing optional runs until you say so. When you first visit our site you will see a banner. Only strictly necessary cookies are set before you make a choice. Analytics and advertising cookies are not placed on your device unless you consent to them.

You can accept everything, reject everything optional, or choose category by category.

Changing your mind. Your choices are remembered for 6 months, after which we will ask again. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time before then using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page, which reopens the banner. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything done while consent was in place.

Refusing analytics and advertising cookies does not affect your ability to use the site, buy from us, or use the portal.

4. Categories of cookies we use

Strictly necessary

These are required for the website, checkout and portal to work. They cover things like keeping you logged in, holding your basket through checkout, protecting against fraud and automated attacks, and remembering your cookie choices. Without them the service cannot be delivered.

These do not require your consent, and cannot be switched off through our banner.

Analytics

These help us understand how people find and use our site, which pages are useful, and where people get stuck, so we can improve it. We use Google Analytics for this.

The information collected includes pages viewed, time on site, how you arrived, and general device and browser details. It is tied to a randomly generated identifier rather than to your name. We do not use it to identify you personally, but it does distinguish your device from others, which makes it personal data under UK data protection law.

CookieSet by PurposeDuration
_gaGoogle AnalyticsDistinguishes one device from another14 months
_ga_*Google AnalyticsMaintains session state14 months

You can read Google’s Privacy Policy, and you can install Google’s browser opt-out if you want to block Google Analytics across all sites you visit.

Advertising

We advertise online, and these cookies let us measure whether an advert led to someone visiting our site or buying from us. We use Google Ads for this.

We use them to measure the effectiveness of our advertising, not to build a profile of you or to sell your data to anyone.

CookieSet by PurposeDuration
_gcl_auGoogleLinks a click on our advert to a later action on our site90 days
_gcl_awGoogleStores the advert click identifier for conversion measurement90 days
IDEGoogle (doubleclick.net)Advertising measurement and targetingUp to 13 months
test_cookieGoogle (doubleclick.net)Checks whether your browser accepts cookies15 minutes

Google may combine this with information it already holds about you from your use of its services. You can review and change your Google ad settings at adssettings.google.com.

5. Consent signals sent to Google

Where we use Google’s advertising and analytics tools, we pass your consent choice through to Google, so its tags know whether they are permitted to use cookies or store identifiers. If you decline, Google’s tags do not set cookies or store identifiers on your device.

6. Content embedded from other websites

We do not currently embed third party content such as videos, maps or chat widgets.

If we add embedded content in future, that content may set its own cookies. Where it does, we will treat it as optional, place it behind the same consent banner, and update this policy before it goes live.

Web fonts on our site are served from our own servers, so using our site does not send a request to any font provider.

7. Tracking in our emails

Our marketing emails contain a small invisible image and links that pass through our email provider. These let us see whether an email was opened and which links were clicked, so we can understand what our customers find useful and stop sending things people do not read.

We do not use this to build a detailed profile of you. You can prevent open tracking by setting your email software to block remote images, and you can stop receiving marketing emails entirely using the unsubscribe link in any of them.

Service emails, such as order confirmations and account notices, are not used for marketing measurement.

8. Managing cookies in your browser

As well as our banner, you can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them. Every major browser publishes instructions in its help pages.

Blocking all cookies, including strictly necessary ones, will stop parts of our site and the customer portal from working, including signing in and completing a purchase.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our website develops or as the services we use change. The current version is always on our website, and the date at the top shows when it last changed. Where a change means we want to use cookies for a new purpose, we will ask for your consent again.

10. Contact and complaints
